Diego Budicin

Diego Budicin. I like listening guitar music, which gives me a pleasure. As I have been watching his play, It came to me very close at once. Diego’s music is full of soul, and very intelligible. Congratulate on you! In the name of hungarian fans, I would like to greet you on The Gitarvilag.hu. Diego, Could you speak about yourself?

First of all, I want to thank you for this interview and for your comments about my music! I’m happy to realize that my playing can touch the heart of people. What can I say about myself? I’m a normal boy, with a normal life. I’ve been in love with music since I was a child and I’ve always expressed my feelings trought the notes of my instrument(s). The music gives me many possibilities to be happy, to meet people and to travel! I really like all kinds of music, from the techno to the metal, classical, jazz ecc. I don’t like the competition, because I think that feelings aren’t assessable. When you write a song you write your own feelings, you express yourself and that’s why it is not calculable. It feels different person to person.

I just love the music and the feeling it gives me.  

Mindenek előtt nagyon köszönöm a lehetőséget, és a véleményedet a játékomról! Nekem a legfontosabb, hogy a játékom közel tudjon kerülni az emberek szívéhez. Mit is mondhatnék magamról? Normális ember, normális életet él. Gyermekkoromban érintet meg először a zene, és észre kellett vennem, hogy az érzelmeim kifejezésének a legjobb útja a gitár, maga a zene. Nagyon sok mindent kapok tőle. Boldog vagyok, utazhatok, remek emberekkel találkozhatom. Nincs műfaj korlát. Techo, jazz, metál, klasszikus… Nem szeretem a versengést, nem lehet a zenék között rangsorokat felállítani. Amikor gitározol, nem szabhatsz meg előre kalkulálható távolságokat, korlátokat. Ahogy a zene, úgy az emberek is különbözőek. Röviden, mindent szeretke amit a zene ad nekem.   

As I see it, you are a well-known musician. I am interested in how have you led your career to reach your aims?

I don’t think to be a well-know musician, I just play and someone likes me but it’s a        long

way to the Top! I’m starting my career with fear of what can happen to me, because I always have fear of the new. If I get used to do something It’s difficult for me to change the set of my life. Well I do it the same, but „changing” is for me sorrow! I want to precise that I don’t smoke and I don’t use drugs ahahah!

Nem hiszem, hogy valami nagyon ismert zenész lennék. Én csak gitározom, ha ez tetszik valakinek, már megérte, igen, ez egy nagyon hosszú út lesz! Egy ilyen úttól én tartok egy kicsit, mert félek minden újtól, ami megváltoztathatja az életem. Sajnos, vagy nem de én igen csak a megszokásokban élek. Azért annyira nem tragikus a helyzet, nem iszom, nem drogozom… hahahaha

Could you say about the main stations of your guitar world?

As I told you before I love all music styles, when I was younger I loved Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and John Petrucci. I also loved Mark Knopfler and his Stratocaster. Nowaday I listen to Guthrie Govan, Greg Howe, Kaki King, John Mayer, Tommy Emmanuel and many others! These guys expresses their feelings so good!

Ahogy már beszéltünk róla, nálam minden stílus bejön. Nagyon szeretem Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, vagy Joe Petrucci. Igen, Mark Knopfler és a Stratocaster. Mostanában Guthrie Govan, Greg Howe, Kaki King, John Mayer, Tommy Emmanuel, de minek is sorolom, nem érek a végére… Minden jót amit a zene adhat, kifejezhet ők megadják nekem.

If I was wrong, sorry, but generally I see you alone on the stage. Don’t you have a band, or just you take part in some supergroup?

I usually play alone, just me and my laptop with my backing tracks! I haven’t found yet someone who could share with me my music feelings. I would like to create a superband to do great things on the stage!   

Általában egyedül dolgozom. Én és a háttérzenéim a laptopomról. Még nem sikerült olyan valakiket találnom, akikkel meg tudnám osztani a zenei elképzeléseim. Tudod ebben a megszokás is szerepet játszik, sajnos. Egyszer alakítani fogok egy „superband”-et, és nagyszerű lesz a színpadon.

From Greg Howe to Guthrie Govan! Diego, This is a fantastic line! Were you influenced their style or you simply like ther play?

I really like their playing and, of course, I’m influenced by their music because If I listen to it a lot, my mind sometimes start to think in their style!

Ahogy hallgatom őket, természetesen a befolyásuk alá kerülök, és talán a játékom is tükrözheti ezt, de igyekszem megmaradni magamnál. Persze, néha játszom a számaikat…

    

This is the one of the most important questin! Okay, turn to your guitars! Is your favourite guitar the Ibanez?  Simply I would like to know everything about your guitars!

I haven’t a favourite guitar, It depends of my mood! In this period I play my Stratocaster most of the time! If I wanna be more rocky or more jazzy I use my Ibanez or my Gibson Les Paul!

Nincs kifejezetten kedvenc gitárom. Az hogy éppen min játszom, nagyon hangulatfüggő. Mostanában a leginkább a Fender Stratocasterem használom. Abban az esetben, ha valami rocky, vagy jazz jön a képbe, rögtön váltok a Gibson vagy az Ibanez gitárjaimra.

Diego, Not only the beautiful girls but „Swimming Pool Blues” is amazing! I very like this! Your sound is great! Next step amps, and pedals?

That’s funny because Swimming Pool Blues is a song that I composed, wrote and recorded just in one afternoon (2 days before my departure for my first tour in the U.S.). To record I have a little Beringer mixer, I use Samplitube and I create my backing tracks playing bass and keyboards! I use a drivemachine to generate the drum tracks! I have  Line6 PodXt live. I use it on-stage and also to record my tracks! I also use a Marshall MG 100 fx to play, when I’m at home!

Ez egy vidám történet, mert a Swimming Pool Blues az a nóta, amit szereztem, megírtam, és rögzítettem, mindössze egy dálután. Két nappal azelőtt történt mielőtt az első amerikai turnéra indultam. Kellett hozzá egy kis Beringer keverő, képbe jött a Samplitube, aztán elkészítettem és felvettem a basszus és a billentyűs részeket is. A dob részekhez „drivemachine” használtam. Amit a szinpadon és az otthoni munkáknál használok az a Line6 PodXt. Erősítők? Marshall MG100 Fx ha otthon vagyok.

I would like you to give some advice to hungarian players, how became very good guitarist like you!

Oh, you are so kind! Well, the only think I can say about it is just: looking for your own way.

Nagyon rendes hogy tőlem kéred ezt, de igazán csak azt tudom mondani, hogy minden gitáros keresse a saját útját.
